Overview
Aceclidine ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used in adults to treat a condition that reduces the eyes' ability to focus on near objects ( presbyopia ).

Contraindications
You should not use aceclidine ophthalmic if you are allergic to it.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:
swelling of your iris (the colored part of your eye); or a detached retina or tear in the retina.
It is not known if aceclidine ophthalmic will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
Ask a doctor if it is safe to breastfeed while using aceclidine ophthalmic.
Side Effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Aceclidine ophthalmic may cause serious side effects. Call your doctor at once if you have:
seeing flashes of light or "floaters" in your vision; or severe vision problems, including vision loss.
Common side effects of aceclidine ophthalmic may include:
headache ; eye redness ; eye irritation after using the eye drops; or dim or dark vision.
