Overview
Amylase is an enzyme of the hydrolase class that catalyzes the hydrolysis of a-1,4-glucosidic linkages in polysaccharides. Amylase (Ptyalin) is a digestive enzyme and helps in digestion and absorption of food. Amylase (Ptyalin) is effective in treating symptoms of pancreatitis or other various digestive disorders.
Indications
Amylase (Ptyalin) is primarily indicated in conditions like Edema, Iron-deficiency anemia prophylaxis or for mild iron deficiency, Edema, Respiratory tract inflammation.

Side Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Amylase (Ptyalin), which give rise to further complications include Hyperuricemia, Hyperuricosuria. The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Amylase (Ptyalin) are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Nausea, Diarrhea, Abdominal cramps.
Warnings
Amylase should be used during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly needed.
