Overview
Benorylate is an aspirin-paracetamol ester with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. Benorylate is used in the treatment of mild-moderate pain, fever and rheumatoid arthritis. This drug has been discontinued.
Indications
Benorylate is primarily indicated in conditions like Dysmenorrhea, Mild to moderate pain, Musculoskeletal disorders, Nausea and vomiting (palliative care), Osteoarthritis, Painful musculoskeletal conditions, Rheumatoid arthritis.
Contraindications
Benorylate is contraindicated in conditions like Peptic ulcer.
Side Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Benorylate, which give rise to further complications include Hearing loss, Toxic hepatitis, Salicylism.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Benorylate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Drowsiness, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Constipation, Rashes, Indigestion, Heart burn.
Warnings
Benorylate should be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic disease. The drug should not be used in neonates and during pregnancy and lactation, in individuals with known hypersensitivity to aspirin (including those with asthma, hemophilia, and similar coagulation disorders) or to acetaminophen.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Paediatrics, Pregnant Mothers, Geriatrics, and Neonates.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
