Overview
Bifonazole is imidazole antifungal with a broad spectrum of activity. Bifonazole is used topically in the treatment of fungal infections of skin and nail.
Indications
Bifonazole is primarily indicated in conditions like Mycoses, Skin fungal infection, Superficial infections.
Contraindications
Bifonazole is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Bifonazole are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Itching, Burning.
Warnings
Bifonazole should be used with caution in patients with impaired hepatic or renal function and during pregnancy or lactation.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
1 % (1 (1)) 24 hourly Topical — For 2 weeks after cure.
Child Dosage
1 % (1 (1)) 24 hourly Topical — For 2 weeks after cure.
