Overview
Butoconazole is an antifungal medication that fights infections caused by fungus.
Butoconazole vaginal (for use in the vagina) is used to treat vaginal Candida (yeast) infections.

Contraindications
You should not use butoconazole vaginal if you are allergic to it.
To make sure butoconazole vaginal is safe for you, tell your doctor about all your medical conditions.
It is not known whether butoconazole vaginal will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant.
It is not known whether butoconazole vaginal passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Do not give this medication to anyone under 18 years old without medical advice.
Side Effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction : hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have new or worsening vaginal symptoms.
Common side effects of butoconazole vaginal may include:
pelvic pain or cramps; vaginal burning or itching ; vaginal pain and swelling; or mild vaginal irritation after use.

Drug Interactions
It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on butoconazole used in the vagina. But many drugs can interact with each other.
