Overview

Calcium Pantothenate is the calcium salt of dextrorotatory isomer of pantothenic acid, the B complex vitamin. Calcium Pantothenate is usually used in combination with other B vitamins as a nutritional supplement.

Indications

Calcium Pantothenate is primarily indicated in conditions like Vitamin deficiency, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Hyperlipidemia, Nephropathic cystinosis, Paralytic ileus.

Contraindications

Calcium Pantothenate is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Side Effects

The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Calcium Pantothenate include Osmotic diarrhea.

Warnings

It should not be given to renal compromised patients.
