Overview
Carbaryl is anticholinesterase. Carbaryl (1-naphthyl methylcarbamate) is a chemical in the carbamate family used chiefly as an insecticide. Carbaryl is used topically as an insecticide for lice.
Indications
Carbaryl is primarily indicated in conditions like Head lice, Pubic lice.

Side Effects
The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute over dosage of Carbaryl include Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Dimness of vision, Abdominal cramps. The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Carbaryl are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Skin irritation.
Warnings
Avoid use of carbaryl in patients hypersensitive to drug and in children under 6 months of age. Continued prolonged treatment should be avoided. Clinic workers in regular contact with carbaryl should wear rubber gloves when carrying out the treatment.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Neonates.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
