Overview
Choline Salicylate is the choline salt of salicylic acid, used as an analgesic, antipyretic and antirheumatic. It relieves mild to moderate pain and reduce fever and inflammation or swelling. Choline Salicylate is effective in the treatment of gout, rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis and muscle injuries.
Indications
Choline Salicylate is primarily indicated in conditions like Fever, Otitis media, Pain, Rheumatoid arthritis.
Contraindications
Choline Salicylate is contraindicated in conditions like Allergy, Peptic ulcer, Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Choline Salicylate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Diarrhea, Constipation, Confusion, Skin rash, Nausea and vomiting, Heart burn.
Warnings
Choline salicylate should be used with caution in patients with chronic renal insufficiency, gastric ulcer, severe anemia, patients intolerant to salicylate. Avoid aspirin compounds in patient with history of blood coagulation defects and if patients taking anticoagulants.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Paediatrics, patients suffering from Liver Malfunction, and Neonates.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
