Side Effects

Rare
Burning, itching, rash, redness, swelling, or other sign of skin irritation not present before use of this medicine or becoming worse during treatment

Warnings
Clioquinol should be used with caution in patients with iodine intolerance, medical history or any allergy. May irritate sensitized skin; topical application possess a potential risk of toxicity to infants and children. It is classified as pregnancy category C and should be used with caution during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pediatrics, Pregnant Mothers, and Neonates. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
3 % (3 (3)) 12 hourly Topical — For not more than 7 days
Child Dosage
3 % (3 (3)) 12 hourly Topical — For not more than 7 days
Neonatal Dosage
3 % (3 (3)) 12 hourly Topical — For not more than 7 days
Drug Interactions
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary.
