Overview

Crotamiton is an anti-parasite medicine that kills certain parasites that live or lay eggs in your skin. Crotamiton topical (for the skin) is used to treat scabies and to reduce itching associated with certain skin conditions . Crotamiton topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Indications

Contraindications

You should not use crotamiton topical if you have ever had an allergic reaction to a topical medication. It is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known whether crotamiton topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Crotamiton topical is not approved for use by anyone younger than 18 years old.

Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction : hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. crotamiton topical may cause serious side effects. Stop using crotamiton topical and call your doctor at once if you have: severe burning, stinging, or irritation after using this medicine. Common side effects of crotamiton topical may include: mild itching or new rash . This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.
