Overview
Dolasetron oral is for use in adults and children at least 2 years old to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be caused by medicine to treat cancer (chemotherapy). Dolasetron may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Indications

Contraindications
You should not take dolasetron if you are allergic to it. Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had: a serious heart condition such as "sick sinus syndrome" or "AV block" (unless you have a pacemaker); a heart rhythm disorder such as slow heartbeats, or atrial fibrillation (fast, irregular heart rhythm); congestive heart failure ; long QT syndrome (in you or a family member) or a condition called torsade de pointes; an electrolyte imbalance (such as low blood levels of potassium or magnesium); or kidney disease. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Side Effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction : hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Seek medical attention right away if you have symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as: agitation , hallucinations, fever, sweating , shivering, fast heart rate , muscle stiffness, twitching, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea . Dolasetron may cause serious side effects. Call your doctor at once if you have: fast or pounding heartbeats, fluttering in your chest, shortness of breath , and sudden dizziness (like you might pass out). Older adults may be more sensitive to the effects of this medication. Common side effects of dolasetron may include: headache ; tiredness; diarrhea; slow heartbeats; or drowsiness . This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Adult Dosage
100 mg (100 (100)) As recommended. PO — For Prevention of Cancer Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting: Should be given within one hour before chemotherapy. Scraped Dose — Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed. Dolasetron is usually taken 1 hour before chemotherapy. You will need frequent medical tests. Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.
Child Dosage
1.8 to 100 mg/kh (51 (50.9)) As recommended. IV — Over 2 years of age , with in 1 hour before chemotherapy, for prevention of chemotherapy induce nuas

Drug Interactions
Dolasetron can cause a serious heart problem. Your risk may be higher if you also use certain other medicines for infections, asthma, heart problems, high blood pressure , depression , mental illness, cancer, malaria , or HIV. Tell your doctor if you also use stimulant medicine, opioid medicine, herbal products , or medicine for depression, mental illness, Parkinson's disease , migraine headaches, serious infections, or prevention of nausea and vomiting. An interaction with dolasetron could cause a serious condition called serotonin syndrome. Other drugs may affect dolasetron, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins , and herbal products. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use.

Tab, IV Inj Store Between 20°C-25°C. Protect from Sunlight.
