Overview
Ethamsylate or Etamsylate hemostatic agent (prevents bleeding). Ethamsylate used to control surgical and menstrual blood loss.
Indications
Ethamsylate is primarily indicated in conditions like Hemorrhage, Short-term treatment of blood loss in menorrhagia.

Side Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Ethamsylate, which give rise to further complications include Hypotension, Hypotension. Warnings
Etamsylate is considered to be unsafe in patient with porphyria.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
1 to 1.5 g (1.2 (1.25)) 24 hourly PO — Should be given two to three days prior to surgery, with an additional 500 to 750 milligrams (mg) several hours
prior to the procedure.
