Contraindications
Fluoxymesterone is contraindicated in conditions like Renal diseases,Hepatic disease,Cardiac disease,Pregnancy,Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Side Effects
WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your
doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:
Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash ; hives; itching ; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever ; wheezing ;
tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue,
or throat. Signs of high calcium levels like weakness, confusion, feeling tired, headache , upset stomach and throwing up, constipation , or bone pain. Shortness of breath , a big weight gain, or swelling in the arms or legs. Change in color of skin. Low mood ( depression ). A burning, numbness, or tingling feeling that is not normal. Upset stomach or throwing up. For males, erections (hard penis) that happen often or that last a long time. For females, a deep voice, facial hair, pimples , or period changes. Very bad and sometimes deadly liver problems have happened with fluoxymesterone. Call your doctor right away if you have signs of liver problems
like dark urine, feeling tired, not hungry, upset stomach or stomach pain, light-colored stools, throwing up, or yellow skin or eyes.
Warnings
Hepatic function should be monitored during therapy. Precautions should be considered if the patient had diabetis, migrain, headache, heart, liver, or kidney disease, breast cancer, depression, prostate cancer
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, and patients suffering from Liver Malfunction.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
10 to 40 mg (25 (25)) 24 hourly PO — Inoperable carcinoma of the breast in the female
5 to 20 mg (12 (12.5)) 24 hourly PO — Male hypogonadism
