Overview
Hydrotalcite is a complex of aluminum magnesium salts. Hydrotalcite is used in the treatment of Dyspepsia.
Indications
Hydrotalcite is primarily indicated in conditions like Dyspepsia, Heart burn, Hyperacidity, Peptic ulcer.
Contraindications
Hydrotalcite is contraindicated in conditions like Neonates.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Hydrotalcite are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Vomiting, Diarrhea, Constipation.
Warnings
Hydrotalcite should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, and Neonates. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
10 ml (10 (10)) As recommended. PO — Should be given between meals and bed times.
Child Dosage
5 ml (5 (5)) As recommended. 6-12 years —

Drug Interactions
