Loracarbef is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity.

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur: More common Itching skin rash Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them: More common Diarrhea loss of appetite nausea and vomiting stomach pain Rare Dizziness drowsiness headache itching or discharge from the vagina nervousness trouble in sleeping Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Loracarbef should not be given to patients known to be hypersensitive to it or to other beta-lactams because of the possibility of cross-sensitivity. It should be used cautiously in patients with impaired renal function. A reduction in dose may be required. Renal and hematological status should be monitored during prolonged and high dose therapy.

Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, and Neonates. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

200 mg (200 (200)) 12 hourly PO — For skin and soft tissue infections: Should be given for 7 days. 200 to 400 mg (300 (300)) 12 hourly PO — For urinary tract infections: Should be given for 7-14 days. 400 mg (400 (400)) 12 hourly PO — For Pneumonia: Should be given for 14 days.

15 mg/kg (15 (15)) 12 hourly Otitis nedia. — 7.5 mg/kg (7.5 (7.5)) 12 hourly For uncomplicated infections. —
