Overview
Mephenesin is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant used for the symptomatic treatment of painful muscle spasm associated with musculoskeletal conditions. Its clinical usefulness is considered to be limited by its brief duration of action. It is also applied topically, usually with rubefacients.
Indications
Mephenesin is primarily indicated in conditions like Muscle spasm (acute).
Contraindications
Mephenesin is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Mephenesin are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fever, Blurred vision, Rashes, Urticaria, Pruritus, Nausea and vomiting, Light headedness, dizziness.
