Overview
Racemethionine is used to make the urine more acidic. Making the urine more acidic helps to relieve skin irritation in incontinent (loss of bladder control) adults and diaper rash in infants. This medicine also helps to control strong urine odor.
Racemethionine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Contraindications
Methionine is contraindicated in conditions like Acidosis, Chronic liver disease, Schizophrenia.
Side Effects

Warnings
Methionine should be used with caution in patients with severe liver diseases. Methionine should not be given to patients with acidosis.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, and patients suffering from Liver Malfunction.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

2.5 to 10 g (6.2 (6.25)) As recommended. PO — As Required

Drug Interactions
