Overview
Methyloestradiol is estrogen, used in the treatment of amenorrhea.
Indications
Methylestradiol is primarily indicated in conditions like Amenorrhea.
Contraindications
Methylestradiol is contraindicated in conditions like Pregnancy, Herpes gestations.
Side Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Methyl estradiol, which give rise to further complications include Impotence, Gynecomastia, Breast cancer. The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Methylestradiol are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Nausea, Edema.
Warnings
It should not be used in pregnancy, geriatric patients, risk of breast and endometrial cancer, hypersensitivity, neoplasia and genital or uterine bleeding, may alter laboratory tests.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
0.3 mg (0.3 (0.3)) As recommended. PO — On two consecutive days
Child Dosage
0.166 mg/kg (0.17 (0.166)) 12 hourly Oral — For Paeds over 6 Yrs of Age
