Overview
Metriphonate is organophosphorus choline-esterase inhibitor, used as an anti infective agent. it is used in the treatment of schistosomiasis (parasitic infection).
Indications
Metriphonate is primarily indicated in conditions like Schistosomiasis.
Contraindications
Metriphonate is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Metriphonate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Weakness, Dizziness, Headache, Fatigue, Diarrhea, Tremors, Sweating, Nausea and vomiting, Muscular weakness, Faintness, Bronchospasm, Abdominal colic.

High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
7.5 to 10 mg/kg (8.8 (8.75)) As recommended. PO — Once in 2 weeks, as required
Child Dosage
7.5 mg/kg (7.5 (7.5)) As recommended. Oral — Once in 2-Weeks, for 6 Weeks.
Neonatal Dosage
7.5 mg/kg (7.5 (7.5)) As recommended. Oral — Once in 2-Weeks, for 6 Weeks.
