Overview

Contraindications

Nandrolone is contraindicated in conditions like Prostatic cancer,Male breast carcinoma.

Side Effects

WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect: Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash ; hives; itching ; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever ; wheezing ; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. Signs of high calcium levels like weakness, confusion, feeling tired, headache , upset stomach and throwing up, constipation , or bone pain. Signs of liver problems like dark urine, feeling tired, not hungry, upset stomach or stomach pain, light-colored stools, throwing up, or yellow skin or eyes. For women, no period. For females, a deep voice, facial hair, pimples , or period changes. More interest in sex. For males, erections (hard penis) that happen often or that last a long time. Shortness of breath , a big weight gain, or swelling in the arms or legs. Very bad headache.

Warnings

Nandrolone decanoate should be used with caution in patients with any disease, especially cancer of the prostate or breast, liver, heart, kidney disease, allergy, enlarged prostate. High dosage, long term use of androgens has been related to liver cancer. This drug should not be used during pregnancy or lactation. Females should be monitored for signs of virilization, such as deepening of the voice, facial hair, acne, menstrual irregularity or clitoral enlargement, consult the doctor promptly if any of these symptoms occur. Use in children should not be recommended due to the possibility this drug may have undesirable effects related to the growth of the child. It should be used with extreme caution in geriatric men because they are at higher risk for developing enlarged prostates or prostate cancer when using this medication. Warninigs and precautions should be considered in patients with cardiac insufficiency, arterial hypotension, nephrotic syndrom, sportsmen.

High Risk Groups

Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, Cardiac / Hypertensive Patients, patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, patients suffering from Liver Malfunction, and Neonates.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

Adult Dosage

25 to 100 mg (62 (62.5)) As recommended. IM — Once every week.
