Overview

Pamabrom is a diuretic (water pill). It works by increasing urination. Pamabrom is used to treat bloating, swelling, feelings of fullness, and other signs of water weight gain related to menstrual symptoms. Pamabrom may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Indications

Contraindications

You should not use pamabrom if you are allergic to it, or if you are unable to urinate. Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to use pamabrom if you have other medical conditions, especially: kidney disease; heart disease ; or high blood pressure . It is not known whether pamabrom will harm an unborn baby. Do not use this medicine without a doctor's advice if you are pregnant. It is not known whether pamabrom passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medicine without a doctor's advice if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give this medicine to a child or teenager without medical advice.

Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction : hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Common side effects of pamabrom may include: gold-colored urine (a normal side effect of pamabrom and not cause for concern). This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Adult Dosage

25 to 50 mg (38 (37.5)) 6 hourly oral — Maximum 25mg every four hous can be taken or take as needed. Scraped Dose — Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. For best results, begin taking pamabrom 5 or 6 days before you expect your menstrual period to start. Keep using the medicine until you get relief from symptoms, or until your period ends. Do not take more than 4 doses of pamabrom in a 24-hour period. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water each day while you are taking pamabrom. Pamabrom will cause you to urinate more than usual. This is a sign that the medicine is working. Stop taking pamabrom and call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 10 days of treatment. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not remove a pill from the blister pack until you are ready to take the medicine.
