Overview

Polyacrylic Acid is used in the treatment of dry eye as a tear fluid substitute.

Indications

Polyacrylic Acid is primarily indicated in conditions like Dry eye syndrome.

Contraindications

Polyacrylic Acid is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.

Side Effects

The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Polyacrylic Acid are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Blurred vision, Burning.

Warnings

Polyacrylic Acid may temporarily affect visual acuity. Hence, patients driving vehicles or operating machinery should be alerted to this possibility.

High Risk Groups

Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

Adult Dosage

0.1 mg (0.1 (0.1)) 8 hourly Ophthalmic — - 0.2 % (0.2 (0.2)) 8 hourly Ophthalmic — Eye gel.
