Overview
Proglumetacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is metabolized in the body to indomethacin and proglumide, a drug with anti-secretory effects that helps prevent injury to the stomach lining. Proglumetacin used in musculoskeletal and joint disorders.
Indications
Proglumetacin is primarily indicated in conditions like Acute gout attack, Bursitis, Dysmenorrhea, Osteoarthritis, Pain, Rheumatic diseases, Rheumatoid arthritis, Spondylosis, Tendinitis.
Contraindications
Proglumetacin is contraindicated in conditions like Neonates, Renal impairment, Hepatic impairment.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Proglumetacin are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Gastrointestinal disturbances.
Warnings
Not recommended for children under 16 years, pregnancy, lactation. Use carefully in renal, hepatic or cardiac impairment and in asthma, elderly, GI lesions, bleeding disorders.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, and Neonates. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

150 to 300 mg (220 (225)) 12 hourly PO —
