Side Effects
WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your
doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:
Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash ; hives; itching ; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever ; wheezing ;
tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue,
or throat.
Warnings
Protirelin should be given with care to patients with ischemic heart disease, obstructive airway disease or severe hypopituitarism.
High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers. If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Adult Dosage
0.7 to 2.8 mg (1.8 (1.75)) As recommended. Slow IV — For 10 Days
200 to 400 mcg (300 (300)) As recommended. IV —
Child Dosage
0.02 mg/kg (0.02 (0.02)) As recommended. Intra Venous — Single Dose
Neonatal Dosage
0.025 mg/kg (0.025 (0.025)) As recommended. Intravenous — Single dose
