Overview
Reboxetine is a selective inhibitor of noradrenaline re-uptake, has been introduced for the treatment of depression.
Indications
Reboxetine is primarily indicated in conditions like Depressive illness.
Contraindications
Reboxetine is contraindicated in conditions like Pregnancy, Breast feeding.
Side Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Reboxetine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Vertigo, Tachycardia, Constipation, Insomnia, Sweating, Dry mouth, Dysuria, Impotence, Postural hypotension, Hypokalemia, Paresthesias, Urinary Retention.
Warnings
Reboxetine should be used with caution in patients with severe renal impairment, hepatic impairment, history of cardiovascular disease and epilepsy, bipolar disorders, urinary retention, prostatic hypertrophy, glaucoma.

Adult Dosage
4 mg (4 (4)) 12 hourly PO — The full therapeutic dose can be given upon starting treatment. After 3 - 4 weeks, this dose can be increased to 10 mg/day in case of incomplete clinical response.
