Overview
A dopamine blocker , which has weak antihistaminic activity. It is given for the treatment and prevention of nausea and vomiting. Major adverse effects include restlessness, dystonia, and parkinsonian symptoms.
Indications
Trimethobenzamide (HCl) is primarily indicated in conditions like Post operative Nausea and vomiting.

Side Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Trimethobenzamide (HCl), which give rise to further complications include Convulsions, Cardiac arrhythmias, CNS depression, Paresthesia, Blood disorders. The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Trimethobenzamide (HCl) are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Diarrhea, Dry mouth, Blurred vision, Nausea and vomiting, Epigastric pain, Bronchospasm, Local irritation, Angioedema, Pain at injection site.
Warnings
It should be used with caution in patients with any eye problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorder, heart disease, asthma or allergies, especially to sulfites. Use with caution during pregnancy or lactation.
