Features
Pain in throat
- Pyrexia, difficulty in swallowing
- Inflamed and swollen tonsils may be with pus points
Management
- Avoid mucosal irritants like beetle nut/ tobacco / lime chewing. Usually, self-limiting. No treatment needed.
- Usual practice is to give-
- Tab Polybion (Vitamin B complex) 1 tab once daily for a week And/or
- Benzycol (Chlorhexidine) mouth wash 2-3 times a day for a week If severe also use
- boroglycerine gel or paste use twice daily
- Tab Flagyl (metronidazole) 400 mg TDS x 5 days
