Features
Usually there is history of ocular trauma with agricultural material (gross, wood, mud etc.) or systemic immunosuppression. Eye involvement is usually unilateral with mild itching, foreign body sensations and watery discharge.
Management
- Oxcin-D or Tobradex (Tobramycin) eye drops 1x6 times a day for 1 week.
- Oxcin- D or Tobradex eye ointment at bed time for 1 week
- If there is corneal involvement: avoid steroids and give pure topical antibiotics like Vigamox / Oxcin eye drops 1 x 6 plus
- Atropine eye drops 1 x 4
- Natasan eye drops 2 x 6 times for two weeks
- Tab - Softin (Loratadine) or Zyrtec / Rigix ( Cetirizine ) 10mg or any other oral anti - allergic 1 tablet PO x OD at night for 5 days .
- Advise photo gray glasses.
