Sub-Conjunctival Hemorrhage

Clinical Features
- There is redness of usually single eye
- It can be caused by eye trauma, spontaneous hemorrhages, severe conjunctivitis, and mechanical straining like vomiting, coughing etc.
Management
There is no need of any treatment if the hemorrhage is small, resolves spontaneously within 2-3 weeks however treat the secondary cause if there is any.For mild to moderate hemorrhages use
- Oxcin - D eye drops 1 x 6 for 1 week
- Tab- Augmentin (Amoxicillin+ Clavulanic acid) 625mg 1 tab TDS or Tab- Novidat 500mg 1 tab BD for 5 days
- Massive hemorrhages need evacuation
- Strictly avoid ocular message and hot compresses
