In corneal ulcers

  • Corneal scraping are to be sent plated directly on blood agar and also on slides for KOH preparation (to detect fungal filaments) and for Gram stain. In deep seated infections
  • Aspiration of aqueous or vitreous fluid and direct plating to suitable media is essential (Discuss with microbiology laboratory).
