Anti-Malarial Drugs

  • Fever with rigors and chills, Every 2nd day body aches
  • Cap Artemether (Artem) 40mg 4cap stat, then 2cap OD x 4days
  • Tab Artesunate (Gen-M) 80/480 1xBD-3 days
  • Tab Artemether+Lumefantrine (Arceva) 80/480 1xBD-3days
  • After recovery Tab Primaquine 15mg 1xOD-14days

Hospital management

  • Inj Artemether (Artem) 80mg, 4mg/kg IV stat then 2mg/kg IM OD-4days
  • Inj Quinine sulphate 300mg/ml 2-amp IV TDS in 500ml dextrose for 5 days plus Cap Doxycycline 100mg BD-7days
  • Inj Artesunate (Gen-M) 120mg 0,12,24

Antimalarial pediatric doses

  • Syp Artesunate (Gen-M) 15/90
  • Tab Artesunate (Gen-M) 20/120, 40/120, 80/480
  • If age less then Syp 15/90 1TSF x TDS
  • If age more than 35 then
  • Inj Artesunate (Gen-M) 30,60,120, Dose 2.4mg/kg stat, then 1.2mg/kg at 1 and 24hrs and then 1.2mg/kg OD for 6days
