Caused by Sarcoptes scabei
Intense itching at night, mostly In between fingers, toes, elbows.
Small babies- Vesicle on palm and soles
Positive family history
General Measures:
- Cut finger nails
- Wash all clothes with hot water
- Expose all bedding to sunlight
- Use wash clean clothes
Pharmacological
- Above 6 years of age
- Benzoyl benzoate 25% lotion apply on whole body for 2 days
- Leave it at night then wash on 2nd day
- Permethrin 5% lotion apply on whole body leave it for 12 hours Brands (Scab free cream or lotion or scabion)
- Benzyl benzoate and permethrin are toxic if swallowed, avoid contact with eyes and broken skin
