Scabies

Caused by Sarcoptes scabei

Intense itching at night, mostly In between fingers, toes, elbows.

Small babies- Vesicle on palm and soles

Positive family history

General Measures:

  • Cut finger nails
  • Wash all clothes with hot water
  • Expose all bedding to sunlight
  • Use wash clean clothes

Pharmacological

  • Above 6 years of age
  1. Benzoyl benzoate 25% lotion apply on whole body for 2 days
  2. Leave it at night then wash on 2nd day
  3. Permethrin 5% lotion apply on whole body leave it for 12 hours Brands (Scab free cream or lotion or scabion)
  • Benzyl benzoate and permethrin are toxic if swallowed, avoid contact with eyes and broken skin
